I get up pretty early after a restless night of kip on the Willerby 99 Sofa - The old foot isnt too clever but I dont think it's broken as there was no massive swelling - The only trouble is gee wizz is that I'll be wasting my time in Seville away - I'm not going to risk walking on it and opt for a day of Paracetamols and catching up on the blog - Grant's probalby happy to see the back of me for the day after the amount of moaning I did yesterday.
So I take it easy and Grant heads off to do a recce on the bus station we have to get to for tomorrow's fun and games - He's also after a bit of culture and so generally has a good day visiting museums.
I write a bit and then have a hobble over to the local Supermercado - I dont know what it is but I find shops in other countries fascinating - as you get to see how in Blighty we get commodified nonsense and generally whats left after everyone else has had the pick of the crop. Peppers for instance in UK shops are pretty much shipped in from Europe......and the ones we get are about 3-4 inches in diameter....over here they are double the size and that prety much applies to most fruit and veg here. Not sure why but Nuts, my staple diet are expensive - not sure if they are imported but seems weird considering they can pretty much grow anything here.
Eventually I catch up with Grant in the square outside, just as it's going dark - he's had a good day and also checked out the Triannon area and suggests we head over there for some food - Now if only we'd thought of that last night!! So I hobble over there and yes it's very good food at reasonable prices - There's some begging going on - but it's not aggressive and people sort of show up with a sob story - there was a bunch of old boys sitting on a bench - listening to someone spill their guts out and you could see it was like a form of entertainment for them as they either gave the thumbs up or the thumbs down....
We walk back over to the other side and sit in the main square outside some cafe - grab some of that nice Alhambra beer - Grant has a chat in Spanish with the waitress and she says it's been a sort of quiet week but Fiesta Friday would start tomorrow and it would liven up. The Computer Generated Simulation didnt throw anything random at us and Doppelgangers became less frequent - as we've slowed down a bit perharps the program has had a chance to upload properly.
We end the night at The International Bar - then head for our gaff - it's an early start tomorrow and we'll be heading to Portugal by bus - Unbelievably there are no railway connections between Spain and Portugal - do they still have some kind of spat going on? Seems weird considering they are both in the EU...... Forgot to say, looks like we just about missed the riot that kicked off in Madrid yesterday - funny how that tends to happen in places we pass through - apparently it was political bollox as usual.
