So, here we are in Chinatown, Singapore..and do you think I can find a laundry anywhere? No chance..after walking in the Singapore heat for 15 minutes, we're pointed to a place that looks like an old army billet...in there is a self service laundrette...We spent an hour watching socks and pants go round in circles. not my idea of fun but it was something that certainly had to be done..! Then we tried to book tickets for the train ride to Kuala Lumpur for friday.....

The flight out of Chennai was uneventful. The taxi ride out was more interesting, Kumal our driver was a nice guy, he occasionally worked in Doha as a driving instructor. Again, he was one of those people totally at peace. He too started talking about the state of corruption in India and said that many people are getting sick of it. I said you need another Mr. Gandhi, he said we've got hundreds of those and that way of getting things done wasn't going to work any...

You wont believe this but we still wondered about taking the train to Chennai and so made enquiries, the local travel agent told us that due to the holidays the trains were full but they could possibly get us on tomorrow's train. This sounded familiar to us and so we bailed on the idea, funnily enough. We then tried to book a flight to Chennai....it took ages and ages and eventually when we paid for it, we had a message saying that due to the holidays the flight ...

Trivandum had proved to be a fine place to explore and we did it in style using the tuk tuks, here there was no pointless haggling and meters were turned on straight away. The sun came out and all was well. we'd seen swarmi's and guru's down at the temple, street madness, the lot.
