Gibbs Locates
We arise at 7.30am, it's 24 Deg C. and a gorgeous day. We've arranged with the hotel owners to stay another night and agree that after breakfast we'll get down to doing the research for the next leg. Breakfast as usual is something we'd all have for tea back home. Amongst the treacle tart and gateaux, Grant finds some French toast and Nutella. I opt for coffee and orange juice.
After a shower etc, we get the now fully charged tablet and plan the next leg. preparation is everything. We need to head to Bari (Not Barry back in South Wales...just in case you're wondering). Bari is on the other side of Italy, basically a port town. We arrange everything and feel quite pleased with ourselves. We'll have 2 and a half hours to leisurely get to the ferry after getting off the bus in Bari. We'll be heading to Patras on the bottom end of Greece. Great. That's that sorted then.
We send a text to Rhidian & Helen and agree to meet down in the port at 2pm. We head down early and take a wander to make sure we know where the hydrofoil leaves the next day. We want no mistakes. We locate the departure point and feel quite proud of ourselves. We then buy 2 apples from the supermarket, they cost the equivalent of GBP1.50....Ischia is not cheap.
We spot Rhidian & Helen and do the usual group greet thing. Both parties explain what happened yesterday. Rhidian & Helen had waited for us at Port Ischia for 5 hours!!!!!!!! We werent the only ones who'd been a bit miffed. They told us about the place they were staying, very cultural and had even attended a concert held in honour of some composer bloke who'd lived on the island . Rhid didnt know his name.....however Lord Gibbs from the Foreign Office left a comment a few days back that it was Sir William Walton who had resided at Ischia and had composed Facade amongst others.
We then had a pizza lunch and a few beers ....and a few more...and a few more. I imagine Lord Gibbs of the Foreign Office would not have approved.

Ma Gibbs What a relief, you actually met! I just spoke to Pa in Florida - he was feeling quite proud of himself for knowing about Sir William Walton - especially as it came in handy. luv Ma
Nerys Mamm Bellini, rhidian Morgan, William Walton, my mind is spinning, not to mention Ma and Lord Pa Gibbs of the FO. Ll-ord Gibbs&Son, Travel Correspondents/Agents; I can see it now. Xxxxn
Rhidian Morgan So we met up with the travellers lunchtime and were given a guided tour of the waterfront. This took all of 5 minutes. With the sightseeing done it was time for refreshments. So we quickly found a bar and ordered drinks and pizzas, followed by more drinks. We chatted for some time and at one point we actually paid the bill. Shortly afterwards both Helen and Grant ordered themselves another drink each, so started "part 2". Well part 2 went on longer that part 1 so the outcome was inevitable. When we eventually said our half cut goodbyes, Helen and I realised that it wouldn’t be the done thing to go back for a multi course meal at our hotel. Therefore we ended up in some beach bar eating panini and fries. Lloyd would say that this was justice for night before. In short, to was great to meet up.
