We arrived quite late to Nice in the end so went straight to sleep, hoping for some sunshine in the morning.

Unfortunately, it was not as good as we'd hoped but still ok for a stroll around the town. We made our way towards the beach where they were just clearing away a half-marathon event from the morning. There was a seated view point area over the bay which we sat in before walking to the harbour area. The weather got slightly better so we found a busy park to sit in and people watch. Next we wandered to the Old Town of Nice, with lots of narrow streets and little shops, we found a crepe/ice cream parlour and couldn't resist! We'd planned to stop at a supermarket on our way back to the hostel to make our own dinner however, being a Sunday, they were all shut! Plan B - Italian round the corner!

The weather forecast for Monday was not very good at all (woke up to a thunder storm) so we decided to have a bit of a chilled day! After a month of being quite busy everyday it was good to just stay in bed for a while and not do much. We did go out for lunch and have a look round the shops once the rain had passed. Supermarket stop for dinner supplies and back to the hostel we went! Although it wasn't a particularly exciting day it was good to have a break from being busy all day, it also helped us sort some things out for the next parts of our trip.

In the morning we catch the train to Genoa - our first stop in Italy!!
