JANUARY 1ST 2007

Today was the much awaited visit to see the temples at Angkor including the wonder of the world. Ankor Wat. Apparently kym doesnt think my entry will do it justice so she's gonna do the proper one.

To my surprise I actually enjoyed the day and was excited (ok thats probably going too far). The day started with an EARLY RISE!-we opted to see BAyon at sunrise. Kym was loving it but to be honest I couldnt see what all the fuss was about-could have had a lie in!lol Spent the remainder of the day stopping off at temple after temple, a few of which were impressive. On the other hand some of them were sh**!Dont know how a couple of them made it on to the map, as they were literally a pile of rocks!And dont get me started on the ones with the massive steep climbs (which kym sat out a few) where you thought there must be a great view or something interesting at the top and then after climbing in the blistering heat there was........wait for it....jack sh**!

But all in all the place is (quite) amazing. The Indianna Jones one was fun and Angkor Wat was very very impressive. Other highlights of the day included an awesome bit of bartering by me (if I do say by myself), and Kym bullying our Tuk Tuk driver into going out of his way. And we did manage to get a free tour guide round one of the temples by this guy who was blatantly a rip off merchant. Glad we finished off with Angkor Wat cos a lot of the other ones would have been a great disapointment in comparison.

The day has changed my outlook on temple ruins.....only 95% of them look the same (like a pile of rocks)!lol
