Well Gaz was right for once - his journal entry didn't do it justice! Im not hugely over-keen on temples myself but Angkor was something else. Gaz failed to see the work that had gone into them & their way of life at the time of building. One line of his was "why don't they just knock them all down and rebuild them?" - now do u see wot i have to deal with lol. Any1 who wants to come on any future cultural excursions please step up! Anyways his mood did eventually improve & Angkor Wat was the piece de resistance which he did enjoy to my suprise, although my fave is still Bayon with its hundreds of faces staring at u. Preah Khan was impressive (the King's former residence) as was Ta Prohm which had been taken over by trees. I liked some of the smaller ones too 'cause of the stone carvings inside them. Ta Keo ( a pyramid of sorts) was worth the climb even if Gaz says otherwise, although a Monk did look up my skirt on the way down which was a bit cheeky! Can't really go thru them all cos there were so many but its def a place i would recommend going to (even if Gaz doesn't). Definitely worth going for sunrise too although i'd probably go to Angkor Wat instead of Bayon if i did it again.
