Today is going to be a short blog. My alarm was set early as I'm heading to Sydney international airport for my Qantas flight to Hong Kong. Last night loads of people came in at 2 making loads of noise so I wasn't quite when getting my stuff ready, showering and made sure I slammed the door when I left the dorm. I was going to get the train back to the airport as it was the easiest way. Plus it only takes 15 minutes where as the airport shuttle bus takes an hour because of the number of pick ups it does. Everyone that knows me well enough knows I love airport, well not so much love... Just love to be their on time, some might call it early. Today was no exception. I arrived and check-in for my flight hadn't even started I had to wait 20 minutes in a line before our part of the queue was opened.
I finally got checked in, and made my way through security and immigration getting my stamp to say I have left Australia. Giving me over 2 hours to kill. I had some breakfast and took a walk around the shops, spending my last few Australian dollars on things I wanted. As I wouldn't get another chance. I know I'm really keen but I ended up sitting down at the gate 90 minutes before the flight, just watching the runway! Im a geek I know, but what else could I do. The beer is way to expensive in the airport. I saw a group of college kids from the states retuning to Los Angeles. They were made to do a roll call. 1,2,3,4.... In total there were 48 kids. I was gutted that I didn't get to got to Australia when I was in school. Everywhere you looked in the airport there was a sea of burgundy the school colour uniform.
It was now scheduled time of departure and I'm first delayed flight of my trip. They blamed it on the cleaners needing more time. The aircraft better be bloody spotless when I board. As the extra time delayed the flight by an hour! Onboard it looked like I had 3 seats to my self. Result. The captain said the doors had closed, and I was looking forward to laying down all the way to Hong Kong. Once airborne and the seat belt sign was turned off, the arm rests both went up, and I laid down. However I wasn't so lucky, a guy in the row behind tapped my legs and said he wanted to sit in the aisle seat... It's not like I could say no.. So had to sit up. I wasn't impressed and was mumbling horrible things under my breath.. Words I can't put in here. ha ha!
My flight consisted of eating, drinking and watching movies. I ended up watching 4 films, The Hunger Games (Crap compared to the book, they missed loads out). The Vow (Cheesy). The Lucky One (Alright). 21 Jump Street (Couldn't stop laughing!).
Arrived into Hong Kong 25 minutes late, so the flight deck managed to make up some time. As soon as I walked of the plane I was hit by the hot air! Finally warm weather again. It had just got dark, I got in the bus to Causeway Bay on Hong Kong Island. The buses are so amazing, they have FREE wifi onboard. I arrived at the hostel stop and met Aaron. Az had been in Hong Kong most of the day. Went out and got some dinner... Not a traditional Hong Kong meal, we had Outback. An Australian restaurant. It was nice to see my friend "A bucket of beer!". I haven't had one in so long. Australia is way to expensive for this kind of luxury. Headed back to the hostel, even 10 o'clock at night it was pissing hot. Back to sweating 24-7. At least I'll have a good tan to return to the UK with. We had planned an early start tomorrow!
