Hello, thank you all for the lovely messages! Sorry we cant reply to everyone but it would take ages!
Today we got up a bit later at 9am and packed our bags to leave Chiang Mai :( We are both wishing that we had longer here in Thailand as there is so much more we want to see and do! But we have made a pact that we will come back on holiday when we can afford it as it is so cheap here!! Today we went to Tiger Kingdom just outside Chiang Mai! We hired a tuk tuk driver for half a day for 300 baht! he drove us there waited for us and then took us back to the guest house! He was Brilliant and very friendly! We feel alot safer here than in Bangkok, the whole atmosphere is better! At tiger kingdom we got to go in the cages with the tigers and stroke, cuddle play etc with them! We chose to go in with the small and the big tigers! the small being between 4 and 6 months old and the big were adults! It was brilliant! The paws were huge and the keepers were so funny trying to take our pictures all the time and tickling the tigers so we could get good pictures and play The keepers kept saying the tiger have fat bellies like the english - nice! They do think we are unhealthy, our guide yesterday was shocked that i eat toast for breakfast because bread is unhealthy - to be honest though they are like sticks out here!!! Health and safety in england would have a field day! We expected it to be a bit cruel like a zoo but it was the complete opposite, they had lovely cages and pools to bathe in etc and lots of room to roam around! they were all hand reared from babies so they are looked after extremely well! The tuk tuk driver then gave us bread to feed some fish with (lots of fish actually) and we fed a camel (slightly random)!! He then stopped the tuk tuk so we could photograph water buffalo bathing in the river! Everything is feeling so surreal!
This afternoon, we took in a bit more culture and looked around two lovely buddhist wats near our guest house! Lots of lovely photos to be had! We are now off to pick up our bags before heading to the night market for dinner and maybe a purchase or two and on to the night train back to Bangkok! Tomorrow night we are catching a night train to Koh Samui! Then it will be beach beach beach!
