After a tiring bus ride from France to Spain we were given a quick bus tour of the city - Sagrada Familia, Olympic site, and then dumped on Las Ramblas. It was such a crapy afternoon - stayed there the whole time, most of the shops were close as it was a public holiday which we didnt know about. We people watched as the doggie gypsies did their work to part innocent people from the riches.

Some interesting facts: The Sagrada Familia. Built by Gaudi construction started in 1882 and it is still not completed today. Stands eight towers, it is suppose to represent nature and surrounding elements. Gaudi is one of the most famous architects of Spain, his creations are smooth and natural.

The 1992 Olympic site would have been a nice view over Barcelona but there was to much pollution. The Las Ramblas is a long pedestrian strip lined with shops, flower stands, and doggie people three guys playing a box game one shuffle the boxes one box has a white ball underneath the others pretend they are playing. On lookers become enticed and have a go BAM loose their money and the guys move on.

After being picked up at 6 we went back and set up camp! After dinner we had a Sangria party! As much as you can drink - it was so weak. Another tour group joined us and we sat at the beach all night drinking, chatting, and playing games. Yuen, Julie and Minh were so drunk they kept coming over to our circle to dance and sing! It was so hilarious. Brad was dumped in the water after 30min of plotting - he had no idea. It was one of those drunken nites where most people ended up in the water.

The next day we had a late start; we went for a swim and went into the city at 1ish. We decided to really make an effort to see as much as possible, since the first day was such a waste! We saw the Columbus Monument, which was pointing the wrong way it supposedly pointing at the Americas but it is in the other direction oooppsss!. We ate our lunch at the Waterfront, went and checked some shops, and then walked up to the Arc De Triomf via the Parc de la Ciutadella, we decided to go to Parc Guell, so we walked via the Gothic Quarter beautiful buildings - you could close your eyes and imagine you were in the 1940s. We conquered the Spanish metro to Parc Guell this is where Gaudi turned his hand to landscape gardening, this garden features the worlds largest park bench. Absolute stunning the bench is full of mosaics Shan and I climbed 10billion steps from the metro, it was so freakin hot - But what we saw was totally worth every last sweat bead - this made our Barcelona experience amazing - sitting there in the coolness of the sandstone caverns listening to a guy playing his spainsh guitar - amazing end to a jam pack day.

At 6:30pm we met up with the group for some Tapas the food was exquisite first time eating tapas yummmm. We then headed to Las Ramblas and had real Sangria in a fish bowl it was so yummy - we were so tipsy by the time the bus came on the ride back to the campsite we decided to entertain the Spainiards with our little can can - Molun Rouge style.
