The last morning in La Paz and Bolivia. Today was an early morning wake up to jump on the public bus. En route there was a local town doing a demonstration so the road was blocked and we had to drive through the farms for a bit. The off road part was fun and bumpy and a little scary when traffic was passing the other way.
After a couple of hours we stopped and the bus had to get on a boat across the lake and we had to get on a seperate boat. I had to sit in the underneath part at the front of the boat - I prayed it didn't sink.
We then hopped back on the bus to Copacabana in Bolivia and stopped for lunch. I had a very tasty chicken empanada and then a few of us went for a walk to see the lake. They had inflatables and swan boats to hire.
After this it was back on the bus for an hour to head to the border. At the Bolivian border we waited about 20mins to get our stamp out of the country. At the Peru border, only one person was working so it took about an hour for us to get our stamp. After this it was back on the bus for 3 hours into Puno.
In Puno we got an upgrade to the hotel which meant we have a very nice place. We had a four bed room for two of us. Once we had checked in we went for a walk to the fresh food market to buy fruit and vegetables for our host family. At the market they had purple corn - so cool.
After this we went for dinner and I had a pisco sour and a chicken Parmesan - not as good as a Parma.
