This is looking west towards the North Sea. Well, technically everywhere you look is the North Sea. I think I read that there is nowhere in the Faroes where you are more than 2km or 3km from the North Sea.
Alex and Antoine headed down. I wanted to wait another half hour to see if the sun reappeared. It didn't so I headed down to give A&A a ride to Gjógv to catch the 3pm bus. I wanted to spend more time exploring the North of the island.
I found Gjógv to be one of the more charming villages I've been to so far. It was compact, unique houses, great seashore and all nestled between a half dozen peaks. Hard to get to on a single lane track, though. There is a campground on the edge of the village. It would be fun to just hang out here for a week.
