While I was waiting for the bus a bunch of hard core bikers drove by, wearing leathers, and driving pedal-to-start mopeds. Looked like we're doing the tent camping thing as they were loaded down with all their gear. Not a bad idea as a way to see the world! Although I was warned that the weather can play hardcore games with travelers on mopeds, bikes or motorcycles.
When I checked the schedule, there were no buses going from Midvagur to Torshavn until 16:40, which meant a 4 hour wait. However, there was a bus heading the other direction, to the airport, at 13:20. At 14:00 the was a direct bus from the airport to Torshavn, so I get back several hours earlier. Thinking outside the box.
The reason I need to get back earlier is my hosts were discussing offering a home cooked, traditional, Faroese dinner for guests (400kr each with wine/beer). There was no word before I left, so it will be interesting to find out, as the need a minimum of 5 folks to pull it off.
