We left Queenstown in convoy with Liz and Max as they were heading back to Christchurch too, to end thier trip but slightly earlier than us. We left Wanaka about midday, and headed for Queenstown. Once we got just outside Queenstown we stopped at the bungy site,which was the first ever bungy. We had to stop over for the night in Lake Hawea because it got dark before we had reached Wanaka/ a campsite for the night! We were also very low on petrol (schoolboy error!) so we pulled up outside a pub and told them our situation and the nice lady said we could park round the back free of charge so thats what we did. From Abel Tasman we drove to Punakaiki, our aim was Franz Josef but it was dark and we had a bit to go... we also wanted to see the pancacke rocks! Picton seemed like a nice coastal town, but it was throwing it down with rain! We arrived about 6pm so we just stayed the night in a cute little campsite, had a walk around when the rain had stopped and then moved on. Although on the way from Kaikoura to Picton we went past so many wineries. We stopped at the Montana one and did a wine tour.
