Today we woke up in our lovely little cabin and had a little relax and chat in the lounge before popping to next doors cabin for breakfast.
After breakfast we had another little chat in our lounge (did I mention how much I love our lounge area, the only downside was the woollen sofas which I found a bit itchy) and then started our 10 hour journey to Whistler.
We made a few stops along the way. Our first stop was at Kamloops where we went to Tom Hortons for a doughnut and a fruit cooler (still no coffee for me Gem). We then drove to Kamloops Lake which had a very different outlook to the ones we had become accustomed to.
From here we jumped back in the van and drove to Marble Canyon where we stopped for a picnic lunch. One detail which I have left out is that the temperature today was over 30 degrees. So in just a week we have seen practically ever type of weather, it's a good job I was so prepared with my packing! So we ate our lunch at the lake and tried to avoid the many mosquitoes - they do seem to love me.
After lunch and admiring the lake and the view we drove to the Fort Berens Estate Winery were we tasted a few of their fine wines!
After tasting the wine we jumped back in the van and continued our journey to Whistler and as seemed to be the way for the day had a little snooze and chat as we went.
Our next stop was Duffey Lake which was much similar to the lakes we had been seeing previously. So after taking some photos of the lake we then ventured on again, this time to Joffre Lake.
When we got to Joffre we walked down to the Lake where we took some photos and admired the view before jumping back in the van for one last time where we drove to Whistler.
At some point along the way we saw a bald eagle in its nest with its baby but I honestly can't remember at which point in the day this was!
When we got to Whistler we checked in and had a quick shower (and I had to do some washing as I leant on a tree and managed to cover myself in sap - go me!) and then went for a little explore of the town.
Whistler is a lovely little 'village' which is all pedestrianised and not at all like I imagined. It hosted the Olympics in 2010 - just in case you were wondering!
Anyway after we had become a little familiar with Whistler we suddenly realised how very hungry we were (having not eaten since lunchtime and I mean not even snacks - this is so unlike me, I hope I'm not coming down with something), so we found a lovely grill where we ordered our food and also discovered a very grown up slush puppy (aka as frozen mango magheritas) so we had a lovely relax dinner before headed back to the hotel to bed ready for another day tomorrow.
