Thursday, 31st December
After a lazy start we walked out to the sea front where the Eye of Malaysia is, nothing in the way of a beach but nice enough. Had lunch at the Dutch Harbour Cafe which does amazing lemon ice teas and a lime slush puppy style drink. Tom played a few of the locals at pool, we then headed back to ours for a few drinks on the balcony before finding a lovely Bistro for supper then back to the bar we were in last night. China Town was so busy the streets were full, such a contrast from last night, everyone must have been saving themselves for tonight! At the bar which was also very busy Jaz and the others were working behind the bar, Vera, Vala and Grace were there too. We had a brilliant New Year it went so quickly Tom went up the road to get some cigarettes and got in the middle of a group dancing on a bridge so to get passed jumped on one guys back was swung round and danced his way along, sounded so funny great way to end the evening. We had stayed out past 2 am which was lock up time at the Guest House, Tom had to climb over the neighbouring houses roof to get into our room and was hoping to go down stairs and open the front door but the reception doors were locked so I had to do the same, dress hitched up not my finest moment!

HAPPY NEW YEAR. Having got in early this morning without our key that was still in reception, Tom went down to get some water and grabbed the key at the same time. We got up at 12pm and got ready, Vala had said he might come and take us back to his for lunch but he didn't turn up so we had lunch in town then went back to bed, supper then back to bed, one of those kind of days.
Saturday, 2nd January
Too hot today. Read our books with the fan blasting then went to the Dutch Harbour Cafe for some drinks and food, we got a free t-shirt for ordering 3 buckets of beers, it's XL so a good one for Dan.
Sunday, 3rd January
Lots of Malays heading home so the 1st available bus to Singapore was at 4pm. We went on the Eye of Malaysia fairly early, really good fun and great views over the sea and town, little bit of a funny tummy when we were going down the other side, felt like we were floating down. Bus journey wasn't too bad we couldn't sit together but weren't delayed or stuck in traffic. Got to Sheryls at around 9pm and went straight for supper at the pool side cafe in her resort. The appartment is beautiful with a lovely view over the sea and the many swimming pools.
