Got up and headed straight to the Ferry port, bus to Kuala Lumpur. Arrived in Kuala Lumpur at 10pm found a nice enough hotel after seeing some really bad ones, showered and straight off for supper and to see the Patronas Towers. They really do look amazing at night when lit up.

Had a good look around the city, had to scan a copy of my passport off to the Oz immigration so hope they can sort it quick. Went on the monorail to Chinatown where we had a wonder around the old Central Marke and Art Galleries. Had a stroll down the Jalan etaling which seemed liked a Malaysian Koh San Road. Stopped for a drink and to watch the hustle and bustle in a restaurant where we met an Indian Malay who rua club here, very teresting to find out the real way things work with cultures, business, the police etc. Once we'd headed back on the monorail we saw a couple in their Wedding outfits eating an ice-cream outside McDonalds, had to take a photo.

Went up to the KL Tower and recon the roads have changed a bit since we were last there it's nothing like we remember. Tom had a go on the F1 simulator in a Ferrari of course, we'd decided not to go up the Tower again. The bus down to Melaka only took a few hours and Tom recognised where we'd stayed in KL last time near the station. We got a taxi straight to the Eastern Heritage Guest House which still had lots of the traditional features including wooden floors and murals on the walls, it also has a random plundge pool at the bottem of the stairs. Went out to a recommended cafe on the river front had something to eat then off to a bar with live music. We met some lovely guys who rang our Guest House and got us a 'late pass' so we could stay out longer,(they have a time where everyone has to be in before they lock the doors).
