Just when we thought the scenery could not get more dramatic, we were left breathless on entering Lord of the Rings country, expecting Hobbits and Goblins to appear around every corner. Mirror lakes, gushing rivers and waterfalls and just massive peaks and carved valleys ....120kms of shear marvel on the road from TeAnau to Milford Sound. And how lucky are we...no rain. The drives takes a minimum of 2 hours, due to the winding road, steep inclines and single lane...

The final preparations entailed us selling some of the toys. So our time in Theewaterskloof was especially nostalgic with Heike and I having the last sail on the Hobie and for the kids their last ski on the boat.
