Geoff, Jade & Goody's Eurotrip
Next stop was Stockholm. Heading north we expected the weather wasnt going to be much better than Copenhagen, and we were right. We couldnt let that hold us back though as we were only staying there for 2 nights and had to make the most of it.
We arrived late in the afternoon and after finding our hostel, we settled into our shoe-box sized room (although shoe-box is probably over stating it - it was probably smaller, nice though).
One thing that is not written in the Lonely Planet guide on Sweden, is that there is only store, government owned, that sells alcohol, and this shuts at 6pm. There will be a letter to the editor there!
Therefore much to our parents delight (who think we are alcoholoics - mum and dad we really arent that bad) we had another quiet night and with the rain still falling outside we made use of a tv (one in a million!!!) in our shoe-box and watched Billy Maddison.
The morning bought more rain and this meant another day with our rain jackets on walking around, we managed to see a fair bit considering. We had no idea how many Islands Stockholm is made up of.
It was saturday night in Stockholm and we planned on a pub crawl, but we only managed to get to about 2 or 3 as we werent keen to walk in the rain! We met some very interesting people that night.
Stockholm was great, it was unfortunate about the weather but there was nothing we could do and just had to make the most of it.
The ferry from Stockholm to Helsinki was everything we expected, and more (or is that less considering it didnt cost us a thing as part of our rail ticket and our rail ticket didnt get validated!)
A bottle of duty free Jagermiester and a couple of cans of red bull got out night kick started. We then headed out to the night club on the boat to party the night away. A great night was had by all, i left Jade and Jarrod out as they were talking to two people they had met. Jarrod a lovely Finish lady and Jade the Swedish chef on the boat (but we still didnt get cheap meals!!!)
We had a great time and the trip was definately a great night, although i must admit i was a little 'sea-sick' getting up the next morning. Jade was knocking on our door at 9.30am (after the ship had docked!!!) with her pack on her back. She wasnt happy when she saw Jarrod and I were still sound asleep.
