Geoff, Jade & Goody's Eurotrip
It was off to Krakow next. After a short 1 hour flight which was much better than what would have been a 10hr train trip we arrived in Krakow. Not knowing what to expect of Krakow we were surprised. I guess we thought that it might not have as developed as it was. The main square of Krakow was just great, we got a slight glimpse of sun on the afternoon we arrived and made the most of it having dinner and drinks in the lively main square. Little did we know we would not see another ray of sun in Krakow and were begining so think we had been coursed by the weather gods.
The main highlight of our stay in Poland was our day trip to Auschwitz concentration camp. This was just so hard to comprehend what exactly happened there, its history and the fact this happened less than 65 years ago! I guess it was good to go there directly after Berlin as the 2 had so much in common but the storries we were told and things that we saw really hit us all. I wont go into details but the whole thing was really just amazing and difficult to believe.
Poland as well as all the other places we had visited was great, apart from the dark stormy clouds that had been folloing us it was great. We spent the afternoon of our last day having a tour around Krakow. Then with time to kill we took a time out of our holiday and went to the movies to watch Mr & Mrs Smith (it was weird cause we all felt like a time out from life for a minute)
Our only way out of Poland was the night train to Prague. The fact that we heard story after story of so many people being gassed and woken up with nothing kinda had us worried. So we took it in turns our staying up for a while (although Jarrod who says he can never sleep on a train or bus probably had the best sleep of his holiday) mine was til 4 when i was glad Jade and Jenny woke up giving me an hours sleep.
