Geoff, Jade & Goody's Eurotrip
Dear subscribes,
It has been quiet some time bewteen issues now and we have covered some beautiful countries in this time.
Ill start with Berlin, it was great to see some familiar faces when we arrived at Belin with Paul and Jenny waiting on the platform for us.
Jade was glad to finally have some female company nearly as much as we wanted female company for Jade!
We stayed in East Berlin in the main area and one of the nicest hostels in we have stayed at (the Circus hostel, can definately recomend it). It was very interesting to visit a city that had two of everything on two diffrerent sides.
We got a chance to visit some great sites like Brandenberg Gate, Check Point Charlie, Potsdamer plats and the Reichstag (Goverment Building of West Berlin - awsome view at sunset watching the day ending over Berlin).
What would Belin be without a pub crawl. But not just anypub crawl, we not only got to have a few drinks but also got a chance to learn a thing or 2 about Berlin pre and post war and what life was like 60 years ago and what things were like when Hitler was around.
But then we moved onto the drinking and met a nice couple from the Canada (yes the Canadian Pornstars aka Randy and Alexis) and 2 guys from Spain who also were keen for a drink or 2.
The following day we were quiet seady but pushed thorugh and went out to far East Berlin so see the main section of the remainder of the wall. It was very interesting and hard to come to terms with that the wall only came down after a misunderstanding in 1989. We all agreed the best way to see the city after a big night was siting on a ferry. So we spent the afternoon touring the sites of Berlin on a ferry through the spree which was really good.
We also had our own tour guides on seperate occasions as we caught up with Erwin and Margot. Thanks to Erwin for showing us around we got to see a Palace in Berlin thats was just amazing. The other occasion was when we stayed with Claudia, she took us around to a numerous different sites but one which we enjoyed was Potsdam, this was an old town established prior to Belin. We spent the afternoon at a lake which was quiet different to the old Lake Narracan. Bit more flesh shown and not the good type either. It was a classic watching an old couple walk straight accross the path of us with nothing but their birthday suits on with way too much skin being shown!!!
Thanks for Erwin, Margot and Claudia, we really enjoyed catching up with you all and thankyou for having us stay.
Berlin was just beautiful and a place we all agreed we would definately head back to. This was great place to start before going to Krakow and experiencing so much more of WWII.
