Ciao !
Hope you are all well, not tooooo drowned out with all the rain. If it's any consolation, we've also been having plenty of rain over here too and we had an amazing rainbow yesterday where you could see both ends across the valley.
We haven't been up to much, hence no blogs, but we have now moved up to the main house (the 'big' house as we call it) for our proper house sit as the owners are now off sailing for a couple of weeks. We went into Perugia last week - a bit of a disappointment for us as it was a cold and windy day, the journey was stressful as the sat nav had us going up and round tiny little lanes barely as wide as the car and both the museums were closed when we got there. So we did a supermarket shop and drove home !
We are so remote it takes 17 minutes to drive to the nearest village and that only consists of a single shop and a few houses. Very different to home where I can walk to the Tesco express and home again within 10 minutes !
The 'big' house is beautiful, we have a huge lounge / dining room with a baby grand piano and a big log fire. A large terrace outside overlooks the whole area and we have a great bedroom in the eves - I literally sleep about a foot below a big beam so have to be careful not to bang my head ! I have an AGA to cook on, it's been many, many years since I cooked on anything like it but I made a fab roast chicken and an apple crumble last night and it all turned out just yummy.
We now have a few UK TV channels so James is delighted to be able to watch the Winter Olympics. We have chickens, 2 dogs and 2 horses to look after but the dogs don't need to be walked and the horses have a big hay bale so we have very little to do during our time here. Mind you, I have to cook up pasta to feed the chickens every other day, that's a new one on me but I guess they are Italian ! Wendy, my sister, sent us out a food parcel which arrived today (many thanks) so we are now stocked up with gravy, shepherds pie mix and pork scratchings as well as mini eggs and pancake mix so we don't miss out any celebrations !!
I have added some pictures of the new house for you to see how very lucky we are - love to you all x x
