I'm on the bus at the moment, on our way to Rome. We keep driving past huge fields of sunflowers. I keep trying to get some snapshots of them as we drive past. This morning we headed into Florence. Our first stop was Leonardo's Leather Works. We had a leather demonstration here. Paul was the volunteer for the demonstration and was asked to help engrave a piece of genuine Italian leather with 22.8 caret gold. He got to keep the small piece of leather so I'm going to add it to our scrapbook when I get home. The Italian guy also explained to us how to tell if leather is genuine or not. Today was another driving day. We left Biot and were off to Florence via Pisa. On the way we stopped at a perfume factory and we given a tour. The lady talked us through the process of how the make their perfume and other products e.g. Perfumed soaps, shampoo etc. At the end of the tour we had the opportunity to test different products and buy something of we wanted. I didn't purchase anything here. Our next stop was Pisa. The car park was about a ten minute walk...

This morning we had a big breakfast in the marquee at the camp site. The. Bec walked us down to the train station at 8.45am. We had decided to go into Nice. We passed Marine Land, the water world and a carnival on the way. There seemed to be a lot to see and do just on the way to the train. I wish we had an extra day here to have a better look around, but it's off to Florence tomorrow. The trains were so packed with people! I can't wait to be able to drive again....

Today was another driving day. Today we left Lyon for the French Riviera. Driving days basically consist of spending the majority of the day on the coach sleeping and listening to music. We have to stop every two or three hours because of Alex's driving hours so we get a couple of 30-45 minute breaks during the drive.
