Today was another driving day. We left Biot and were off to Florence via Pisa. On the way we stopped at a perfume factory and we given a tour. The lady talked us through the process of how the make their perfume and other products e.g. Perfumed soaps, shampoo etc. At the end of the tour we had the opportunity to test different products and buy something of we wanted. I didn't purchase anything here. Our next stop was Pisa. The car park was about a ten minute walk to the Leaning Tower of Pisa. I've found it really intriguing as to how long it takes to build these beautiful buildings. We get told so much information about all these different tourist sites and buildings that it's hard to remember everything. When I get home I'm going to go back through and google some of these things. Then will add more detail to my blog. For now the brief overview of what we've been doing and the places we've visited is all I have. I expected the Leaning Tower of Pisa to be the only building in the Field of Miracles, but there were a couple of others too. We were told what they were, but I've forgotten already! I was too interested in the Leaning Tower of Pisa. The camp ground is on the outskirts of Florence town. The cabins are so cute and are surrounded by trees. The camp grounds here have a lot more facilities than the majority of the ones in NZ. There's a restaurant, shop, swimming pool and at reception you can purchase wifi, postcards etc. After dinner we headed out to a bar called Red Garter. We ordered two jugs of cocktails and the guys ordered beer towers. The beer towers consisted of three and a half litres of beer and had a sparkler on the top. It was a karaoke bar so lots of people got up to sing. Paul kept going outside to have cigarettes and barter with the gypsies. They come up to you and try to sell you things. He had had a couple of beers by that stage and came back inside with Mickey Mouse ears that light up and matching coloured sunglasses. Then he also bought a monkey that makes a screeching monkey noise. We had such a good night. Couldn't stop laughing. We got a taxi back to the camp ground and headed down to the little restaurant/bar. The taxis drive so fast here! It probably didn't help that Paul kept saying pronto! Pronto! When we got back to the camp Paul grabbed another beer and I ordered some pizza. Everyone there is so friendly. We were having heaps of fun with the screeching monkey and the megaphone (another souvineer Paul purchased from the gypsies). You can speak into it or just press a button and it sings Ole Ole Ole! After we had finished eating our pizza we went off to bed.
