Find the Hat and Hide the Bag.
Find the Hat. So for all of you "non scouts" out there, there is a funny little story about life on the job. There was a baseball scout who was out in the sun, watching a game and it was soooo sunny out and it was hard for him to watch the game, so he went and bought a hat. When he sends in his expense report for the month, he included the hat as an expensed item. He receives his report back later, with the money for the hat not included, and a note that read "we do not pay for souveniers". so the next month, he writes out his expense report, sends it in, and at the bottom of the report he writes "Find the Hat"
We were out with our european hockey scout and met his wonderful little boy who is sooo cute and kept talking to us in swedish and rach and i just kept answering "yes" to him (the poor kid)...we grabbed a cup of hot chocolate and an apple pie, and our scout said "don't worry, i got this...just remember: find the hat"...so thanks dad, we appreciate the hot chocolate
Hide the Bag. We did a little shopping on our last day in scandanavia...apparently Bjorn Borg, yes dear readers - the quite popular swedish tennis player - now has his own sports line. so we got a little little something from the store, and had this little Bjorn Borg bag we were walking around with right after we met up with our swedish scout. i guess you could say that Bjorn Borg is a tad on the expensive side, but we had this bag and some CRAAAAZY old lady points at us in the subway and goes in swedish "blah blah blah Bjorn Borg" and rach looks at her and goes "uh...english" and she goes "Bjorn Borg Bag!" and i thought she was asking for directions to the store, then she points at us again and says in a very condescending tone "Bjorn Borg bag, that is sick" and i go "hey i'm english! how am i supposed to know any better" and then rach just said "let's get out of here!" ...so still we're not quite sure why crazy lady was sour at us but she made us feel like a couple of yuppies...sigh...poor crazy lady. we did hide the bag until we got home though...........
Back to Germany! so we have another long day of travel ahead of us...a 15 hour stint to make it back to germany...a night train that leaves in 30 minutes, we'll wake up at 6:45, and jump on a couple other trains before we make it to Herne, Germany for some serious detox. then meeting up with mummy this weekend! miss you all
