Last breakfast, Jo and I got up to say goodbye to everyone. It was like Christmas, as everyone generously donated well needed supplies to me! I am now well stocked up on (to name a few bits) toiletries (batiste, I am in heaven!!), drugs (thanks Trudi!!) emergency rations of cuppa soup and peanuts, mozzy spray, moisturiser and Sues juggling balls that I am looking forward to donating, probably in Africa. All this plus some extra rupees :)
So that's the trip, Jo and I had a final day in Kathmandu shopping (bought step 2 of becoming a traveller in the form of a couple of long sleeved tops) and had our final meal before Jo left for the airport.
Sat in bed writing my last blog for Nepal and I can hand on heart say Ive had the best adventure and been so lucky with the group of people I was able to share this experience with, thanks guys, really enjoyed your company - Rachel (Florence Nightingale and great walking buddy); Anya (Queen of clean); Sarah (But I don't eat chocolate); Simon (I've got a big one); Trudy (Dr Doolittle); Kirsty (Can we stop the bus again please - sorry Kirsty couldn't resist!); Sue (Mother Teresa/Pied Piper); Pete (I will get this stick through security); Rachael (Jam Jam!!) and last but by no means least, Jo (Rate my Goat.com), thanks for being a great roomy, it's been lush!!!
Can't wait for the reunion in Faringdon :)
So many memories, but to name a few - 7's, s*** eye, no coriander please, killer caterpillars, 6000 steps, moderate.....my arse, leopard and jackal poo, tuff buff, waking up to the snow capped Himalayas, toilet tents, poo helmets, water fights, Irish Bar with no Guiness on Paddies day, "We are making the electricity, it will be here soon", bubbles and the Pied Piper, a million support staff for trekking, porridge, walking sticks crafted from bamboo by Ram, You are a Monkey I am a donkey, Roxy (urghhggh), Pick a Porter, Rate my Goat, Grab a guide, Erotic temples, public cremations, bites, Good morning - bed tea, Buddha airlines, Rhinos, elephants, crocodiles, another bloody deer, dogs, rice, more rice, Amazing chef Harry (and his ability to make 1000 different meals with just an egg), soup, garlic, garlic soup, sunburn, tipping, tipping, tipping, and lots and lots of laughing...
Right guess its Jam Jam time, flight tomorrow to my next adventure and probable Delhi belly (although may be a blessing in disguise as must have put on about 10 stone this trip!) On the bus to the airport yesterday, listening to Lloyd Cole - lyrics quite fitting - "My trademark frown, has grown, into the strangest easy smile".....couldn't describe it better....... Namaste :)
