One word for today, steps, no two words, steep steps.........5-6 thousand of them, ALL downhill.....started off fairly easy then got more and more difficult. Lunch was a well deserved break, past a random electric pole with mobiles plugged on for recharging, in the middle of no where! By this point it was near on 40 degree heat so although a rest, a fairly hot one with limited shade, so glad to get going again with the thought of a campsite by the river in mind. On the way to camp we passed a few villages and a farmer who gave some of the group an opportunity to plough with his Ox (a lot harder than he made it look!!) I also entertained the group by falling twice, but managing to do a 360 turn the first time (protecting the camera) and being caught by Raj, one of the trek guides, the second time, however, did manage to land on my feet both times - ta dahhhhhh! I am definitely built for up hill travel, not down.....got to camp then got straight into swimming costume to go down to river with a load of washing. The water was FREEZING and with no shoes on, the bottom was very slippery so didn't spend too much time submerged, unlike Rachel and Jo who stayed in long enough for a full hair wash and Timotei style photo! One lesson learnt, washing your clothes in the river will not clean them! Back at camp, we had another culinary delight, followed by a night of playing cards. Raj and Kemal, the trek guides, taught us a new game with rules that conveniently changed depending on what hand they hand!! Very funny evening, and a goodish nights sleep (although mass murderer or more realistically the mass of flies in the toilet, made peeing during the night a challenge)
