Our last full day together :( started the day birdspotting, saw some great birds, more elephants (including a couple of mad male elephants who apparently for up to two months a year get hormonal and are uncontrollable, see, boys do get PMT!) Also saw a cotton bug, which looks like something from Hellboy.
Quick bus ride to Bharatpur airport with an interesting security policy which involves you opening the top of your bag and then being given a security checked sticker - very thorough! Didn't even want to go through my hand luggage.......although as the plane was just about big enough for our group and a couple of others I guess they think it's not worth the effort to worry about, plus the company is Buddah Air so you imagine some Devine intervention may come into play if we had difficulty.......no, just me then! No sooner had we taken off than we landed again, interesting to see the pilot flying the plane from my seat!! Got back to Hotel Tibet, through the chaos that is Kathmandu, shower & change and off out for our last meal. Almost didn't make it however, as crossing the road needed a miracle, with traffic coming from all directions. Add into the mix the fact that drink driving is not really frowned upon (you have to get stopped 5 times before being arrested, plus a lot of police drink and drive) it was only through Rams expert guidance we negotiated the crossing successfully. Amazing restaurant which has several different floors all decorated with feet, which different groups have written on to depict their trip. We had great fun coming up with our design, lots of memories and stories re visited from the trip, coupled with great food and some lethal cocktails! The toilets were also well thought out with a cubicle for "people who sit" and one for "people who stand", brilliant! Came back to the hotel bar for a few more drinks then bed before last breakfast ......
