So, today drove to Bhandiphaur, 5.5 hour journey that would rival any rollar coaster experience! Here's the rules -
1. If you are on a blind bend, overtake, if there is something coming the other way, overtake, if the road is only wide enough for one vehicle, try to overtake....2.Beeping - if there is any vehicle, or person within a 10 mile radius, beep. If there is not a vehicle or person within a 10 mile radius, beep.
3. Speed - Go as fast as you can, as much as you can, rucks or humps in the road should not be seen as obstacles to slow you down - the suspension and tyres are there to be tested not looked after!! Considering the above, I loved every minute of it!! Arrived at the village, walked through some dodgy looking streets, that open into a really lovely village - clearly funded by government to help with tourism. Quaint hotel, with amazing views but no electricity. All ok however as we were told someone was making the electricity for us (clearly they hadn't been peddling fast enough!!!) Chip butty for lunch (even in Nepal, I retain my class), then at about the equivalent of Monday morning at home, I was sat on a roof terrace, complete with beer and shorts (clothing not spirits) before going round the local village. Kids in the village, very cute, Sue, one of our group, had brought whistles, bubbles, pens etc, it was like The Pied Piper....amazing that no matter where you are, children go mad for bubbles!! Evening comprised of beer and curry outside on the patio :) My favourite place so far!
