Last day trekking today, feel happy at what we have achieved, sad it's coming to an end, and excited for the next leg of the trip! Easy walk today back to civilisation, saw some interesting sights including a huge butterfly the colour of a cauliflower, but looks like a leaf! We arrived for lunch early in Karuwa, which basically looks like a bikers food stop, with bar, pool room and cafe belting out Summer of 69 - that song really does get everywhere. They also have hot (warm) springs which were a welcome opportunity to cool down, before getting on the bus (another Scooby Doo affair) we said goodbye to the porters and gave them their well earned tip which they seemed happy about - then a couple of hours back to Pohkora. It was a welcome relief to get back to the hotel and shower, although the water was not a pretty sight, both on showering and washing our clothes....luckily managed to get some laundry to the local shop to wash, hurrah, luxury (Nepalese style anyway) In my pursuit of becoming a proper traveller (not sure if I can grow dreads in 10 weeks but hey!) I bought two pairs of lightweight trousers - you know the sort usually come in beige or stripy and are accompanied by flip flops, an ethic top and a bandana style hairband. In the evening we went to the Himalayan Encounters office and were cooked a traditional Nepalese meal by the amazing Harry, who was our chef for camping (what that man can't do with an egg isn't worth knowing!!), plus at my request stopped putting (evil) coriander in EVERYTHING, including baked beans??!!! Pudding was a cake Harry had baked which tasted devine :) last chance to tip the guides and kitchen staff and thank them for their hard work, before a cheeky beer at a local cafe and bed...
