Early start to get to the airport, an interesting experience - security check to get into the airport itself, then check in took 30 mins and 2 people (I was at the front of the queue) then through immigration, security check again and then at 10am - when the plane should be taking off, we were called to board. Queued to get on a bus that no word of a lie, drive us 10 meters to the plane!! Further security check (most thorough yet) at the bottom of the plane steps before I could get on. Through all 3 security checks I have been carrying an open, half empty bottle of water (about 500ml) which no one had batted an eyelid at!!!!
Got to hotel, wow pure luxury, I'm talking clean water, air con and a plethora of pillows!!!! Briefly met the group (seem like a nice bunch of people) then onto first tour to Delhi. New Delhi very westernised (well they have Tarmac on the roads and pedestrian crossings!) Then into old Delhi, which for me was more what I was expecting, narrow streets, hectic, smelly, lots of people sleeping, dogs, goats (more than Nepal, Rate my goat lives on!!)
Met more of the group over dinner, then bed before up at 5am - yes, I am on holiday......
