Hello,
I have just spent the weekend being shown around Auckland by Michelle and Siobhan. On Friday night I met some of Michelles colleagues and was introduced to some delicious New Zealand wines, a bit different from the (not so) high quality Australian goon I have been drinking! We then went to a vodka launch party that Michelle had invites to so got some free cocktails, before meeting up with Siobhan.
On Saturday, unfortunately the weather wasn't cooperating so they had to change their plans to take me on the ferry to Waiheke island for a tour of the vineyards. However, instead took me up north to a place called Matakana where we looked around the markets, then went for lunch. We drove back down the coastal route and then went to Michelle's house on the north shore. We plan to try and go to Waiheke when I get back in 3 weeks as hopefully the weather will be better then. That evening we went out for Tapas, then Michelle's friends 21st and then Siobhan's friends birthday party after! This morning they took me out for brunch, then to the west coast to Muriwai beach with beautiful black volcanic sand. Then they took me down to mission bay for more stunning views. The weather was also much better, so I hope it continues to improve. I was very lucky to have the 2 girls show me around as I certainly got to see lots of places I would never have visited otherwise. I start my kiwi experience tomorrow and see even more of the country! I start by heading up north before coming back to Auckland and going down south, and I can't wait!
