Emma's Travels
Yesterday we had a very scenic drive to the Coromandel Peninsula. Before leaving Auckland we headed up to mount Eden, one of the 70 volcanoes in the area for views of the city. We stopped for lunch in Thames before heading to Cathedral cove. It was about a 30min walk down to the beach, but well worth it! We them headed to Hot Water beach which is located just above a thermal outlet, so if you dig in the sand you can create a VERY hot pool! Finally we drove to Whitianga, or Mercury bay, for the night. We had a group spaghetti bolognese, then went to the local pub for karaoke. I've got a really nice group of people which makes it even better.

Catherine Sounds like you having a great time, glad to the weather is better, it’s not here I think it has rained every days since you left. We have just had Graeme’s to older kids for a few days and 1 Grandchild, so we had a house full. Keep Blogging and bring the sunshine back with you. Catherine & Graeme
mummy mallett Em, gud to hear from you! Glad you have a nice bunch of people on your bus- will make all the difference. Did you really subject the kiwis to your singing- they have had enough national disasters as it is! Is the weather nice for you? We are freezing cold this morning with a cold spell set to last for a week or so. Hope you visit lots of lovely places :-) xxx
