Last day in Byron Bay today. We spent the first day relaxing on the beach as it was nice and sunny. Went snorkelling 'with turtles' yesterday, but unfortunately the turtles didnt come out to play, so I guess it was just snorkelling!! Today we walked up to the lighthouse via the most easternly point of Australia. It was a bit of an uphill trek but well worth it when we could see huge humpback whales playing just of the coast. We spent a while there just watching as they all jumped out of the water.. its was amazing.
Off up to the Gold Coast tomorrow morning where we are stopping to go to one of the theme parks. Then on to Brisbane for a couple of nights.

Frank & Val Hi Em..Glad you still seem to enjoying urself and sometimes in the surf and sun. We have finsihed our cruise which was fantastic (gap year girls doing their year on the cruise ship). Hope you manage to find work of some sort and all the snaps look great. Keep blogging and good luck F&V xx
Emma Hi everyone, The whales made up for the lack of turtles and maybe I will see them when i snorkel the great barrier reef. Havnt done much job hunting yet because as I want to do fruit picking you just have to phone around just before you get there. Iv inquired at a few places but they have just said we should have work but phone when you get here. Should be arriving in the first place in a week. There are loads of farms but if none have any jobs going there are plenty more towns to stop in. Nan and grandad got me a contact in one of them, Bowen. She said the hostel us good (a bonus as they have a reputation for being awful) and I know she is leaving soon and they will need a replacement. Only problem is it's really far up north so will he very hot! Might not be so bad if I can pack instead of puck though! Glad you had a great time cal and Frank. I look forward to hearing more about it, maybevwhen I get back? Which places did you go to? The weather was better up here but now it's turned :( hope it cheers up, feels like England today, but at least it's still warm . No idea what to do in brisbane. Think we will give the zoo a miss as done many of them. What Sony recommend? Xxxx
