Well again it has been a while, work has been busy and its the last week of winter and this morning on my trek i was too hot in jeans and a t-shirt, which is great because i might get my tan back before too long. Glenn is now working on the south island and i'm going down at the start of october and driving back with him, Clive my boss has even offered to pay for my flight down there, not bad hey. So i'm counting down the weeks till my little holiday at the moment its 5 more weeks.
After going to wellington for the rugby i had a few quite weeks of just working and getting a little money together. Clive went away to canada mid july to see lindsey my boss ( other boss) so Dippy and myself went for a little holiday of our won for a few days to see Glenn. It was nice to have some company on the drive over and we had a lovely weekend, on the saturday we went for lunch at glenns parents new place, the house has some amazing views. On the way home we stopped in to see Brendon and his new chickens, which Dippy loved and had a complete obsession with them yapping at them. On the sunday we went for a nice walk on Patea beach just down the road. It was quite a windy day and there was lots of foam blowing off the waves, dippy was so facinated by it and the fact that she could chase the foam as it blew across the beach then it would dissappear. That dog has definatelly got OCD, it was nice going for a walk on the beach with a dog, it made me miss my lot a little. Then it was back across country and back to work.
The following weekend i got invited out pig hunting (which is a big thing over here), by Deon and his mate Darren. I got woken up some time before 7am by Deon banging on my door, which looking back was worth it. We drove for a while into the bush where we met up with some of the boys and parked a ute either end of this big horse shoe in the river. It was great fun we all hopped in the raft, dogs and all ( 4 dogs and 8 people ) we went a little way down the river to the narrowest point of land where Darren and me got out the rest carried on down rive a little and got out at the bottom of the horse shoe. Darren and me sat on a ridge to see it the others would push some pigs up our way. Darren had 2 guns so i was safe with him. We sat there for and hour before heading down to join the others. I started the day off being called sheila which i thought was funny, then i carried one of the pigs we caught on my back ( it was lighter than my back pack) so then i started being called Bro ( which the maori's use alot) So i gained some friends and got invited down to eskdale that night for a pig on a spit and a few beers. There are some pics from my day out pig hunting but i havent seen Darren since so once i get them i'l put them up.
