We got such a good deal on the car a brand new ford focus with full insurance for just 8 pound a day and the driving in new zealand is great lots of winding roads round the mountains. Our first stop was fox town to walk on the glacier, an incredible experiance all around is rain forrest which you walk through to get onto the glacier. Our guide was very good and i was a bit worried about wearing boots on my very sore feet, its strange to see where the glacier wsa years ago. We then dove to franz josif for the night.

We got up early the next day as we wanted to drive up to nelson, stopping off to see the glacier near where we were staying then north. We had a bit of a stop at the pancake rocks and the blow holes which would have been really nice but there were far too many people. Then we went for a nice walk alond a rive which should of taken 3 hrs but we did it in half the time so that we could still get to nelson for the night.

Our first lie in of the trip was in nelson then in the afternoon was caught the sea taxi and went walking in abel tasman national park which is a tropical paradise. The boat took a little detour to show us a collony of sea lions and their cubs before dropping us off. The walk was nice but sun bathing on the beach while we waitted for the sea taxi was nicer. Tomorrow and early start to get to the north island where we are going to meet up with a friend of mine Brendon who cames over to wales to shear some times.
