The ferry crossing from picton was 3hrs but the drive there from Nelson was nice through all the vinyards, it was a nice day a bit windy so we couldn't sit out on the crossing. We got such a good deal on the car a brand new ford focus with full insurance for just 8 pound a day and the driving in new zealand is great lots of winding roads round the mountains.
