Well after a very rough flight with air new zealand we got to christchurch at about 1 am, feeling a little tipsy after a few free chanpagnes on the plane anne marie and me stayed at a motel near the airport. Our first day in NZ we went into christchurch to the gondola which has amazing views of the city and all the mountains as far as you can see. We then walked back down to a little town called Lyttelton, which a bus driver had recomended to us it was very pritty by a big lake and a nice walk except it was a little steep and both of us were wearing flip-flops, my legs ached for days. We then went back to the motel to meet caroline and sharif with the campervan and go to the camp site. We had no table and chairs so we sat on the ground eating and drinking and got mobbed but some ducks and ducklings.
We drove to omarama the next day stopping at lake tekapo, which was beatiful with the snow capped mountains around it. Anne marie and me bought some thermal pj's as it gets cold at night in the tents we looked so stupid in matching blue stripped pj's but it was a bit warmer. Then it was on to queenstown, stopping at an aj hackett bungy spot form a bridge into the river below, it was nice watching crazy people jumping i don't think i could ever do it. We got to queenstown quite early so anne marie and me went for a walk on found the ledgenary fergburger and the best burger i have ever tasted, then watched i am ledgend before bed.
After another cold night we decided camping was no fun and booked into a room on the campsite. In the afternoon we went horse riding it was anne maries first time so we went on a slow trek were they only walk and you get to see some of the location spots for films such as lord of the rings, prince caspian and wolverine which was very cool. I got to ride a lovely grumpy horse called joey it was nice to be back on a horse after such a long time. I got talking to thye girls that took us out and there are jobs going so i just have to send my c.v in, i cant think of a nicer place to work. The yard was just out of queenstown in a place called Glenorchy and the horses for the ride we did are in a place called paradise and it really is. After we went to celebrate anne maries first horse riding experiance at the cow where cast members go and it was a nice littel oldy world pub in town. It was so nice to sleep in a bed after camping for the last few nights.
In the morning we went up on the gonola over looking town for a huge breakfast, then on the luge which is a bit like go carting and lots of fun. There was a paragliding hut by the top of the gonola so i popped in just to see how much it was and it was great value for money. After a bit of persuading i got anne marie to come with me so we walked to the top of the hill with our two instrutors who were really nice guys as anne marie was a bit nervious. The worst part is the take off as you have to run of the edge of the mountain, it was ok for me because i was off the ground and todd the guy that took me was still running, but anne marie is jus too tall ( see its a good thing to be short ). Ther was a rugby 7's tournament on and we got to fly right over the pitch the best spot in the house. Then todd decided to do some tricks ha so not fun, i was happy with the peacfull gliding over town and the lake. Once we got back to the ground we went the rugby for and hour and to meet a friend of anne maries, emma (its not propper rugby). Then we went out for the night adn hardly spent a penny with all the rugby teams around if you went to the bar you couldn't hand any money over which is good as i'm travelling on a budget. I had bought some new shoes for the night and ended up with great big blisters on my feet.
The next day anne marie and me went to rent a car as caroline and sharif are travelling quite slow and we got ourselves a graet deal. In the evening emma came round for dinner to the camp, i have never seen some one so happy to see an organ and shes played it so well.
