Having slept almost solidly for almost 12 hours Liv and I were shocked at how early we fell asleep! We set up for the day at Salsa Brava beach, and even though it was not glorious sunshine at least it was hot and not raining; It was the start of a perfect lazy day. The beach was beautiful and natural and super relaxing with calm clear waters by the shore and wild waves further out. Puerto Viejo attracts a wealth of interesting, free spirited people and so people watching all day was enough to keep us entertained.
Pleased at how our tans were progressing (even through the clouds) we decided we would stick around this town for a while, relaxing and beaching. We noticed that the beach bar we were sat next to had a hostel upstairs, and decided to move out of Rocking J's into cosy and welcoming Lazy Loft hostel which was so much nicer, and well worth the trek across town with our backpacks on in the crazy humidity. It had a balcony overlooking the beach with hammocks and sofas and a really friendly vibe.
We had some coco locos again at happy hour - which may be my new favourite drink - coconut rum, vanilla vodka, pineapple, and coconut cream. Delicious and dangerously drinkable. The heavens suddenly opened and it absolutely poured with rain, which changed our plans for a drunk night out to a chilled night in.
