We took a bus from La Paz to Copacabana early in the morning. The bus stopped en route as we reached Lake Titicaca and in order to cross it we hopped on a speed boat, whilst the bus was ferried across on a raft. Lake Titicaca is the highest body of water in the world at over 3,500 m in altitude; it's an absolutely massive lake and spans both Bolivia and Peru.
On arrival in Copacabana we checked in at Hostal Villa Imperial - so nice - before heading out to explore the little beachy town situated on the shores of Lake Titicaca. After some lunch we began a full day of shopping! We were actually very successful in buying some presents and souvenirs with their being such a great selection of shops and so much nice stuff! It was hard to resist buying absolutely everything, a problem I also experience often at home teehee. With only a couple of days left in Bolivia it was definitely time to make the most of it.
We went out to a really lovely restaurant for dinner and tasted the local specialty - salmon trout! The meal was absolutely delicious, and I had grilled trout stuffed with bacon, spinach and ginger with veggies and potatoes. We also had a bottle of Bolivian wine and ended up pretty drunk (blamed completely on the altitude of course). I had a really nice day.
