After a good lie in we got up and took a tuk tuk to the grand palace which was incredible! there is just gold and jewels as far as the eye can see! The grounds are great and the buildings are amazing! The detailing on the statues is also a sight to behold! It must have cost a fortune! We worked our way round and took off our shoes many times and finally got to the emerald buddha,no photos can be taken but it is breath taking! He sits on a huge throne of gold and has many statues beneath it! The room was very peaceful and you can tell that everyone gives their utmost respect to the place.
We did also manage to avoid getting scammed ( thanks jamie!) before we even got into the palace! We then walked to WatPho and looked aorund their grounds, which again are impressive and peaceful. We then came to the reclining buddha which was absolutley HUGE!!!! We weren't expecting it to be soo big! Very impressive!
Outside the temple we had our first taste of unripened coconut water, which was really sweet and sean fell in love with! We then tuk tuked it to China town for a wander and exploration of the hangover set! Sadly we couldn't find the White lion bar :( but may try again later! After more walking we found a chinese buddha temple where we met the friendlest people ever! One lady sat down with us and explained all abou Buddha and the Way to pray to the statue, " if you want baby you ask her" Not yet love but thanks anyway!!! haha
Next stop was khao san road after a quick shower!, we ate our first street food and we liked it! However whether it was chicken curry like she said was debatable! :) many more offers of suits and ping pong were turned down but the fresh mango juice was a delight! Sean had an unripe coconut again!
early night for us as we are up at 4 to head to cambodia!! o god!!
