We got up extra early to catch the bus to chiang mai, we got to the station for our pick up and had to wait til 9 which was fine we sat and watched a fat man with his cats!!? (weird i know!) We got dropped off at another bus station in Bangkok and had our tickets issued and bags also ticketed.

However we then had to wait til nearly 11 to actually leave!! (after being told we were leaving at half 8 and arriving at 5) This is the famous thai time that we were told about on several occasions!

The journey itself was ok the seats were comfortable if no leg room what-so-ever, but we slept and amused ourselves until we got to the lunch stop which was included in the price. We still felt slightly ill but decided that some food could be a good option so we chose some food (carefully) and sat to eat it. All was well i was avoiding the chillies until all of a sudden sean just drops his fork and stares at me with a look of horror! Panicking i said "what! what!" "look at my food..!" confused i looked down to his plate to see... a BIG black fly all cooked and curled up in the beansprouts! Cackling with laughter (i couldnt help myself!) sean continues to almost puke and cry simultaneously, so after he calmed down we bought some good ol' pringles and decided that was enough thai food for one day!

Arriving in Chiang mai at half ten ( 8 hours my ass!) we got a tuk tuk to our hostel and were pleasantly surprised at the grounds and noises of the diverse wildlife! Our room is simple but nice and clean and we share a large bathroom with the other rooms ( not sure how many!?) No complaints so far and are going to head into a nice deep sleep for the night!!
