Thursday I stayed at Shaun and Oscars project, with Shaun and me talking until 1:30am in the morning, about leaving and how we've all changed. We know it's 2 months away but time will just fly by and it's the main topic at the moment.
Friday I stayed at Backpackers in Kampala, after Helen who I met in Ruhanga came down.
Saturday the boys came into town and we all went out for a final freedom run, before going back to school. It was a good night out, being with people we met in Backpackers - That's what I love about Backpackers Hostel, you meet so many people, from all over the world, with the most interesting stories, it's great.
I wasn't sure how I felt about going home on Sunday, after the spell I had coming back from Ruhanga but walking up the path Favor was in the bush with Yuseen, as soon as he spotted me, he came running up with a red flower he'd just picked, giving it to me. Favor has feared Vic and me since we arrived but all of a sudden he's in love and now won't leave me alone! I went to the toilet at night, only to find him sat on the chair in the house and he'll just wonder into the bedroom calling me name and wanting a hug.
Sunday I had all the children in the house, hectic but fun. I was teaching them how to play with a yo-yo, then my pasta was cooked and I shooed them all out, only for Favor to come charging back in later :)
It's these situations that make me realise I'm at home and there aren't any worries. When lighting the very frustrating fire, you'll have Regan watching you and just a huge smile comes across his face, along with mine and I feel on top of the world! So inclusion, I'm feeling great being back home!
We started school again on Monday, with only 7 pupils in P2 and 9 in P4.
It's all been going well, with many of my lessons outside, enjoying the sunshine whilst reading or playing spelling games.
The only down side of this week was finding out that Mr Omen has been let go. The Headmasters weren't satisfied with his Maths teaching and although a lovely guy, it's fair enough if the pupils learning was being affected. Only thing is that his beautiful daughter will be leaving too.
He left yesterday afternoon, without a goodbye which was shame! Wonder if we'll see him again?
Not sure what's wrong with Regan at the moment, he's terribly sick and it's worrying to see!
Seeing him Sunday afternoon, well if Jane hadn't of walked out of her house, I would of cried. He's come up in scabs on his chest, dry pimply skin on his face and is weak.
Back home when someone you care about is ill, I don't seem to worry alot, as I know they'll get treated or have good care. Here, I just feel so guilty, what can I do? Just standing there looking at him, I felt like it was my fault. But unfortunatly it's like other situations out here, we can't going around being 'gods' helping everyone, as it puts a label on white people and singling one person out for help, is unfair on others. But it's just unfair on us too!
Obviously if things turn out for the worst, we'll help, we've got to!...
Off to Sanyu on Saturday, start that up again each weekend, as we're back at school, really looking foward to it.
Along with Sanyu, for our final 2 months here, we're hoping to visit some more projects of other volunteers, along with another trip to Rwanda to re-new the visa and then a aeroplane ride to England!!!!
Until then, I'm waiting for Vic to get back from Kenya, think this will be tomorrow or Friday. We're going to be talking all night long, can't wait :)
Lots of Love x x x
