12th August in the morning we did one last lap of the town and down to the beach before we had to take it back to the bike shop. riding around on our own gave us some well needed freedom and got to do whatever the hell we wanted for 2 whole days, it was awsome to not have to wait for buses and watch our watches all the time and going wherever we wanted. said goodbye to santorini and caught a quick ferry to Ios, to yet another party island. checked into our new sweat box we were to stay in for the next 3 nights. once again no palm trees or green greek fields, only rocks and dirt creating our new scenery. our new home was another canvas tent with permanent beds with the worst mattress in the world on the steepest hill there was in the camping. so yes we lugged our backpacks up this could be mountain and crashed there for the afternoon. knackered got a rest in between sweating then went to the bar with our already pre mixed vodka and cordial and started drinking, for something different. dinner was an all you can eat pizza buffet and i did eat all that i could. smashing the drinks and getting over excited with our new found friends, and playing many drinking games, i definatly got waaaaaaay too excited got on the bus to go into town with the crew and left my already eaten pizza down the side of the bus. stacey then left me on the bus thinking it was a round trip to go back home, only it wasnt, stumbled around and got on the next bus i could find to take me back to the camping ground and took my sorry arse to bed. aaaaggggghhhh dammit, first night in ios and i cant believe i didnt make it out. have to try harder next time.the next few days consisted us feeling sorry for ourselves from the night before hand or should i say morning, waking up at 1pm, planning the next part of our trips after greece, laying by the beach and the pool and eating amazing dinners at the greatest place in the world. its a place called harmony and it looks over the beach in greece. the restaurant was a great mexican place with hammocks an amazing group or musicians and always great new company every night we went there. we went there 4 nights out of 6 and i definatly could go back there again tomorrow. the atmosphere and the way you feel after the harmony experience is definalty breathtaking and then of course you go and have a massive night with your new found friends. we did also take advantage of the water sports they offer in ios, there were so many to choose from but we took a half day trip which included canoeing out to a cliff, jumping off it about 8 meters, had pretty yummy bbq sausges, canoe out to another beach which so happenes to be a nudest beach so you get to see some of the local geriatrics, jump off another cliff, around the same height, snorkle to see some fish and i guess rocks and then paddle back. awsome day nd of course we need some harmony for our last night we were there. loved it that much!!!!! one last night in ios which was also spent with a couple of friend we met for pamploma, running with the bulls, once again wrote ourselves off, did what we said we wouldnt do but yes hung over for our killer bunch of travel days coming up.
