(ok i know its a pic of greece, but that is how blue the water was!!!)

after spending 10 hours on the ferry and getting woken up by the crew on board half an hour after they arrived in this place called zadar. got off the boat with our backpacks, finally got use out of the waterproof part of the backpack (locals said it hasnt rained like this in years. dammit) pants rolled up around my knees with my thongs on trying to keep my balance and not slide all over the marble floors, not knowing where to go or what to do in this crazy town. so we started talking to this older english fellow who just would not stop talking about how amazing croatia is. talking about all the times he has traveled here and now showing us HIS island and HIS coffee shop and HIS hairdressers. ha yeah ok. he brought us a coffee so we could stand to listen to him for alittle longer.

stayed in a private house accomadation with this crazy cratians who opened his house with open arms. it was the top floor of the highest block of flats in zadar. and of course the elevator hasnt been working for at least 20 years he said. amazing little town with the best fruit and veggie stores i have ever seen. all the summer stone fruit are in season so we have been going crazy with the nectarines. easily walk zadar in a day but we ended up staying 2 nights there. best ice cream i have ever tasted and they are only 5 kunas (or what we like to call them koonanies) which isnt even 1 euro so of course we had one every day. walking around the beautiful town for a couple of days, kicking back and reading a book and taking in the scenery, stunning. one part of zadar was the music steps, works like a wood wind instrument or like an organ, the water and air pressure pushes into these pipes and the stairs in the harbour sings. somewhat amazing i recon.

caught a 4 hour bus ride from zadar to split on friday afternoon and split is like a way bigger zadar, loads of cheap markets, cheap food and old castel ruins. had our first proper huge meat dish for dinner, and then followed by of course an icecream. ya all gotta go to split!!!!!

saturday we boarded our 8 day sail on a traditional croatian boat. we were fed these amazing mouth watering lunches every day onboard then goin out for dinner with the crew and drinking the night away every night. breakfast was also included, mainly bread and cornflakes, so i didnt wake up for all of them, plus i couldnt wake up after some of the night the boats were having. went to some breath taking islands and got some awsome photos and cant wait to show you all. the trip included a huge night on the town of dubrovnik where everyone had alittle too much to drink, including some aussie idiot got arrested for jumping all over cars and on the really expensive boats. saw loads of castles on our journey and had 2 days of s***ty weather. suited my hangover just fine. then we had one amazing night in an island called Omis. today was the croatia vs germany in the world cup football so we joined the town in celebrating croatias defeat. and oh my god, they brought the city down, umbreallas were lit, cars were dented, the noises from car horns over rulled any other noise. the atmosphere was unforgetable. we quickly escaped to debortuary back on the boat for a pirate party, cut up a red blanket we found in berlin and used it for our pirate vests. we had to of had the best outfits. another amazing night. arrived in split the next day for a fairwell dinnner with the crew, and to another club, right on the beach for our last celebrations.

finally got off the boat this morning and still feeling like we are on the boat, when do sea legs go away dad?? this has definatly been a holiday from my holiday, but now my liver definalty needs a holiday from drinking. did our first load of washing today, washed our entire bag, we were not smelling the best after nearly 1 and a half months and hadn washing occationly. clothes are feeling 100 percent better, i will too after a couple of days of detox. catching the ferry to ancona tonight at 9pm and hopefully not wake up till i get woken up again tomorrow morning then off to magnificant roma!!!!!
