17-11 july
um early for our free brekky and stocked up on supplies for lunch then on a longish bus ride to latterbrunen in switzerland. our last stop in france there was a choice to either get a mcdonalds meal or go to the supermarket. stacey and i of course went to the supermarket and spent 33 euro on 5 meals for us including 2 bottles of wine!! how cheap is that. and dinner included the biggest feast of burritos, man we are getting sick of pasta!!! we went through the boarder pf france and switzerland with hardly any trouble at all, but it was still more of an ordeal going through this country then any other so far. drove through Bern to pick up some more members that stayed here 2 nights then off to latterbrunen. that noght, cooked up our feast while beating off other hungry backpackers eating their s***ty old pasta, and after a slight heart attack thinking we had booked a hostel in munich for the next night but realising we hadnt, it was time for another early bed.
up early in the morning to go for one of the most stunning walks with stacey i have ever had. walked for 30 mins and found ourselves at a national park full of waterfalls. the sound and the water pressure was absulutly unbeleavable oh my got. and it was sooo cold. silly aussie chicks couldnt find the elevator that goes up into the mountain to the top, so we just scaled the stairs. didnt matter to us, we just coulldnt get enough of the waterfall. nothing like that anywhere in perth.
after the waterfalls, did some well needed washing, it was cheap to use the washing machine so we took advantage od that and pretty much washed our whole bag, then i got my nerves and courage together to catch the shuttle bus to interlaken. the shuttle bus took me just outside the town of adventure with a group full of other crazy people, to go to a huge open space to go SKYDIVING!!!! oh my got, i was sweating but still screaming with excitement before i even got off the ground. they suited us all up, did some simple instuctions on how to fall and how to land then it was my turn to go up in the plane. i met the guy i put my life in his hands, mike, andother aussie. then made a fool of myself on the dvd that costs me a fortune. not to worry, i would only do this once in switzerland, so gotta make the most of it. went up in a plane with 3 other divers, 3 other savers and 3 camera men. my palms were sweating with excitment and i was screaming from when the plane took off. the view from the plane was amazing, looking out of the plane to the snow capped mountaing was breath taking. my turn to go to the edge and fall out of the plane. i couldnt catch my breath still screaming by savour close to me and the camera guy in my face. 1 2 3 faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaalllllllllllllllllllll oh my god it was the greatest feeling in the world falling for a good 30 secons i think then parachute opens and i get shot out into the sky for a 15 min free fall. UNBELEAVABLE!!!!!!!! caould not belive what i was going through. wow, cant even explain the feeling. i even got to drive the parachute when i was falling. got to the ground and jumped up and down for at least 20 mins after i landed. what an experence wouldnt change it for the world and it cost me an arm and a leg to do it, but how many people can say they jumped over the swiss alps. got back to the hostel really late, jumped up and down once again with stacey cause she stayed behind and spent the day in interlaken on her own, would of been boring for her if she came and then a quick dinner then tuck up in the warm bed.wish i still had my trackies.
the next day was spent canyoning through the canyons of switzerland. wow that was unbelieably amazing, going down slidding off rocks, jumping off boulders and sip lining through the tightest of cracks, that was somehting i had never done before again. we all had helmets with names on which surprisingly related to our personality quite well. my helmet said monkey, stacey said heidi and there were 2 asins in our group that couldnt really swim and really struggled to understand english, their names were lala twat. 4 hours of intense canyoning then out of the freezing cold water, someone told us that it was 6 degrees celcious. but oh my got it was the freshest water i have ever tasted, the most delicious water ever, straight from the caps on the mountains. luckly we had 2 wet suits on booties, shoes, a life jacket and a helmet on, i was surprisingly kept warm, except when the frozen water came through the arms of the wet suit. out for a snack then back to interlaken and waitied for 2 and a bit hours for someone to give us a lift back to our hostel. we were absolutly exhausted, waterlogged and trying to return our bodies up to normal. started to rain that afternoon then we all celebrated with another arrival of the busabout crew, people who stayed extra nights in paris. went to the local bar, and only had a couple of drinks tonight you wouldnt believe, danced the night away and chatted with an amazing peron i had met in pamploma for which felt like forever, my ears could of fell off ahahaha then back in bed, only to enter into our shared 4 bedded dorm to someone getting bloody lucky with some guy she had only met, not the nicest thing to walk in on but poor stacey had to wake up to the awful noises that come with it. the joys of shared bedrooms. aaaggghhhh bus again tomorrow to munich, hopefully got 4 hours sleep.
