The homesickness has definitely kicked up a notch now .... Every time I think about home life I get a lump in my throat and start feeling emotional, don't think the humid heat is helping either :/ so currently trying not to think about it too much right now and hopefully will feel much better soon (fingers crossed).
Thailand is pretty interesting! There's so much to see and all the different smells as well - some are good, some not so good - it's crazy! Today we had orientation at 9am (setting my alarm early when I'm lacking sleep anyway was a bit of a killer) and they talked us through what we will be up to in Thailand - looking forward to the elephants and going to the islands, hopefully get a bit more breeze by the sea. We then made our way to the pier and got a ride on a long boat (took plenty of pictures on my camera!) which was awesome. You get woman with boats piled high with things to sell, paddling past you and trying to sell you things. We then stopped off at one of the temples, they are so beautiful and all the tiles on the roofs sparkle in the sun. We learnt the praying position (I'll show you all when I'm home again don't worry haha) and had holy water sprinkled on us by a monk. Next we took another boat over to the other side of the river and visited another temple; this one had a reclining Buddha, and it's the second largest one in Thailand, 45 metres! It's impossible to get the whole of it in one picture. We then had a wander around the temple and got a couple of group photos which will hopefully be put on Facebook at some point by our travel leaders. Then we went to have lunch - I miss UK food, just don't seem to have the appetite for Thai food right now, it's so different! I think the heat and lack of food got to me then so one of our leaders and two other girls came back with me to the hotel to cool off - we went in a tuk tuk which was so cool - and that's where I am right now, chilling and writing this - while the others went to visit the Grand Palace. I think the plan for tonight is to meet up and drive to a night time market and then go to a lady boy show which could be interesting .... So I'm sure I'll let you know how that goes tomorrow ;) E x

Dad Enjoying catching up with how you are getting on, sounds like you are getting into the swing of it. I would like to say I'm looking forward to seeing the pictures from the lady boy show but that would be wrong in so many ways!! Can't wait for your next blog and will catch up on FB :-) Haven't seen any selfies yet though ;-)
