Getting up whilst it's still dark outside should be illegal! It was so cold but on the plus side we got some good photos of sunrise on our first stop. On our next stop we went on a short walk over swinging bridges (fun to jump across) and through some old train tunnel caves. After that we drove to our accommodation for the night - rooms of four and they were all single beds, such a nice change from sleeping in bunk beds! Then we had time to chill before some of us went black water rafting. So we get to the place and have to put on (already wet) wet suits - it was a serious workout getting those bad boys on and I have never looked or felt so sexy in my life after finally managing to get it on lol - and a helmet with a light on. We then got driven to a river just outside the cave where we collected our rubber rings and had to practice jumping from a platform backwards into the river. And of course they just happened to pick me to demonstrate .... Greaaaaaat! After we had all practiced we made our way in the pouring rain to the entrance of the cave. We then spent the next 3 hours climbing over rocks, walking through water, siting in our rings going downstream and we jumped off two (1 1/2 metre high) waterfalls backwards - bearing in mind the only light we have for all of this is coming from our headlights. The best part was when we sat in our rings in a line holding onto the persons legs behind us and we all had to turn off our lights and our guides pulled the line through the cave and we got to see all the glow worms on the ceiling of the cave. They looked just like stars in the sky and it was so magical until one of our guides told us they were basically just glowing maggots. Lovely! After we made it out of the cave and could no longer feel our hands anymore we got back to the centre and (another workout - I best end up with some decent muscles after this trip finishes) took our wetsuits off and got into a nice lukewarm shower and when we were all ready, we got treated to a bagel and tomato soup which warmed us up again. We then got back to our accommodation and got ready to go down to the only bar in the town only to find out it was closed and there was nowhere else to go and socialise and drink - no wonder this town only has a population of 80 people, no one gets beer goggles! So we went to the tv room (ironically the tv didn't work) where there were comfy sofas and ended up playing a more complex game of wink murder (called wolves - pretty good game) and then went to bed around midnight ready to be up and on the bus at half 8 in the morning.
