We spent a night in halong city last night so we had time to look around and find the best tour to book. The city was pretty crap but we found a tour and it starts this morning. The tour is 4 days and 3 nights- 1 night on a boat and 2 nights on an island called Cat Ba. We arrived back in Hanoi this morning around 6.30am, the bus from sapa took 11 hours back. Our bus to halong bay was at 8am- short 4 hour trip to the east of Vietnam. This morning after the minging breakfast we set off on our long trek. I would do this everyday if I could it was amazing. All the layers of rice terraces looking like giant steps up and mountain and climbing up and down them while walking up muddy paths next to wild buffalo, it was brilliant and I loved every minute. We have booked a 3 night 2 day trekking tour to sapa, 10-12 hours north of Hanoi. Last night was our first night of the tour- the night on the sleeper bus to get here which arrived at 8 this morning(so this is classed as our first day).
