With no plans in Maputo we took a walk around. Maybe we chose a bad direction but there was little of interest and the locals were less than inviting. No one in Maputo smiles. This morning we dropped off our polo and took a transfer to the border between South africa and Mozambique. We gave ourselves close to three hours to get through the border, it turned out to be a wise decision. After breezing through the South African exit we got in line to purchase a visa into Mozambique. We took up Kwa madwalas tour to Swaziland advertised on their website. Although they tried to talk us into another day at kruger because "no one chooses to go to Swaziland and we are short on staff". A full day tour turned into a half day, not that we were too disappointed due to the heavy rain making everythig quite dreary. Our tour visitied the glass factory, we were meant to see the oldest mine site in the world but apparently its back in operation so not open...

This morning we said goodbye to Panzi and had another day driving through Kruger. We had to wait patiently for 5 big male giraffes to get off the road and let us head on our way out of Guerney. This time we drove to the south towards Skukuza and then Malelane where our next accomodation was located. With the long weekend over Kruger was much quieter, maybe the animals knew this but we had a much better day. We saw elephants drinking and frolicing in a water hole....

This morning at Panzi we met the local african wild cat. It was hanging around to get a drink of milk, so didnt seem too wild. Although if we got closer within its 2m personal space the wild cat would run away. We set off early for a day of game driving in our polo around Kruger.
