Today started with me watching the boys getting the bikes ready for the journey. This included tying an old pillow to one of the bikes to make a softer seat for one of my travelling companions.
Our first stop was at another lovely waterfall which we had to get to over a suspension bridge. Apparently the locals swim in the pool and then use the warm spring water to shower - it was idealic.
We then stopped at a knife maker that uses the old bomb shells to make the blades - the boys explained that sadly they also try and unarm the bombs themselves as contacting the army means they will not get the metal!!
After several other waterfalls, a couple of suspension bridges, lunch and a couple of war sites we arrived at our first Rong house. The roofs can only be tall if the community is strong and respected, well we thought this must be such a community. We went on to a wooden church built by the French and then went to the hotel.
As usual I went for a walk and found the Rong house in the picture just round the corner - just me there!! This is obviously a community that is even stronger and more respected.
The evening was spent with the boys eating a meal made up of jungle leaves and pork. I just can’t say how delicious it was.
